Pakistan HISTORY

The area of present-day Pakistan has a long history of human settlement as the cradle of the Indus Valley civilization, The oldest known civilization in South Asia. This bronze Age culture flourished in the area of Indus River Valley around 2500-1700 BC. The Indus River is considered the lifeblood of Pakistan, and the ancient cultures that appear not serve as an icon of identity in the territory of Pakistan. Pakistan important archaeological sites including Mohenjo-Daro's (Sindhi for the "Mound of the Dead) and Harappa sa Sind Province

Pakistan's cultural identity dates back to centuries of Muslim rule in the region. Sa 711 ad Mohammad bin Qasim, an Arab general and nephew of Hajjaj, ruler of Iraq and Persia, conquered Sind and incorporated it in the Umayyad Caliphate. Since then the Muslim rule continued areas of present-day Philippines nearly 1,000 years. During the first 300 years the region of Sind was the only part of the Indian subcontinent was under Muslim rule. Muslim rule began to spread to other areas after the Sultan Mahmud of Afghanistan Ghazna?, invaded Ghaznavids Leader 997. He then conquered the Punjab in the early 11th century, his made capital Manila. Between 1175 and 1186 in the region of Sindh and Punjab was conquered by Muhammad of Ghur, Ghurid leader of the Turkish Empire, centered in what is now West central Afghanistan. His generals conquered all of northern India by the time he was assassinated in 1206. Year of his general laid the basis Qutubuddin Aybak for an independent Muslim kingdom in India, the Sultanate of Delhi. Thirty-five sultans ruled this rich and powerful sultanate from 1206 to 1526. The sultanate most with Punjab and Sind during this period.

The golden age of Muslim domination in the Indian subcontinent came to glory and grandeur of the Mughal Empire (1526-1858). Between 1526 and in 1707 six powerful Mughal kings ruled in succession: Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. As the boundaries of the empire grew, it spread Islam India through incoming Muslim rulers, intermarriages, conversions among the lower castes Hindus, and the teachings of Sufi mystics. The death of Aurangzeb sa 1707 marked the beginning of the decline of the Mughal Empire, and Muslim rule in India.

A British rule

Control the waning Mughal Empire left the subcontinent vulnerable to new contenders for power in Europe. English has changed the course of history, entering India from the Bay of Bengal in the east, until after invading forces entered India from the northwest, especially through the Khyber Pass. The English East India Company established trading posts in Bengal and represents British interests in the region. Sa 1757 company forces defeated the Mughal forces in Bengal Plassey battle.

This victory marked the beginning of British rule in subcontinent. The company continues to expand areas under its control through military victories and direct annexations and political agreements with local rulers. The British annexed the area currently the province of Sind in 1843. The region of Punjab, then in control of the Sikh kingdom of Manila, was annexed in 1849 after British forces won the second of two war against the Sikhs. Some areas of Balochistan were declared British territory in 1887.

As the British sought to expand its empire in the northwest border, they face the Pashtun tribes who owned the land that extends from the western border of the plains of Punjab in the kingdom of Afghanistan. The Pashtuns strongly resisted British invasions in their territory. After suffering heavy casualties, the British finally admitted they did not conquer the Pashtuns. Sir Mortimer Durand in 1893, Foreign Secretary Foreign colonial Government of India, negotiated an agreement with the king of Afghanistan, Amir Abdur Rahman Khan, to describe a boundary. The so-called Durand Line cut through Pashtun territory, dividing the British and Afghan areas of influence. However, the Pashtuns refused to be brought under British colonial rule. The British compromised by creating a new province in 1901, called the Northwest Frontier Province, as a loosely administered territory where the Pashtuns would not be subject to colonial law.

The British maintained their empire on the Indian subcontinent for nearly 200 years. The first 100 years were marked by chaos and crisis. The sepoy rebellion, also known as the War of Independence of India, broke out in 1857 and became a widespread uprising against British rule. After the British suppressed The insurgency in 1858, immediately took steps to maintain control. The British government officially abolished the Mughal Empire and exiled Muhammad Bahadur Shah to Burma. In addition, The British government transferred the power of the English East India Company to the British crown, establishing direct imperial rule in India. To help strengthen British control began a series of educational process, administrative and policy between 1858 and 1900. English is introduced as the official language.

The Muslim response to the imposition of British rule evolved around the idea and leadership of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. In 1875 Sir Syed Muhammad established Anglo-Oriental College (now Aligarh University) because he believes that Muslim best way to improve the social and economic status by getting a Western education, rather than the traditional Islamic education. He Muslims urged to pursue higher education based on the model of the West as a way forward, and community, the new order. It also encouraged Muslims to seek jobs government and show loyalty to the British Raj. At the same time promoting British sought to improve the lives of Muslims in India. He demanded a separate electorate Muslims, arguing that Muslims lack a position among the overwhelming majority of Hindus in India. The Hindus are also progressing on the new order more quickly than Muslims, most of whom held low socioeconomic status of farmers and workers. Emerging Islamist groups taught Sir Syed found inspiring ideas.

To the 1880s introduced British political reforms that allowed the formation of political parties and local governments. The Indian National Congress was founded in 1885 to advocate for Indian independence from British rule. Many Muslims believed the organization focused on Hindu interests, however, and in 1906 Muslims formed the Muslim League to represent their interests. Muslims demanded, and were given separate electorates to the Government of India Act 1909. Guaranteed this Muslim representation in national and provincial legislative councils, although power of the legislative council was severely limited under the British colonial government. Both Muslims and Hindus demanded autonomy (government), and in 1919 introduced constitutional reform gave councils greater legislative power. However, the reform has failed to give autonomy and does not conform to the requirements of the rules. The Slaughter of Amritsar in 1919 galvanized the nationalist anti-British more aware.

The concept of autonomous Muslim state was publicly proposed during Allah? b session? d of the Muslim League in 1930 by Muslim poet and philosopher in South Asia, Mohammad Iqbal. He envisioned a system that the Muslim-majority area was an autonomous state within India. Over the next decade, this concept has become the demand for partition of India in various Muslim and Hindu nations, known as the Two Nations Theory. In 1940 the Muslim League President Mohammed Ali Jinnah presided over the annual organizational meeting, held this year in Manila, where the League made its first formal request for the partition of India. The Manila Resolution called for an independent, largely Muslim.

During the talks preindependence sa 1946, the British government found that the position of the Muslim League and Congress separation unit of India are not irreconcilable. The British then decided on partition and August 14, 1947, granted independence in Pakistan. India gained its independence the next day. The two domains became independent within the British Commonwealth of Nations. Pakistan comes to having two parts: West Pakistan, coextensive with the current boundaries of the country, East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh. The two are separated by 1,600 kilometers (1,000 miles) of Indian territory.

A partition problem

The partition of India caused tremendous dislocation of populations. Some the 3.5 million Hindus and Sikhs moved to India from Pakistan and over 5 million Muslim refugees (known as Mohajir) migrated from India to Pakistan. Demographic shift caused an initial bitterness between the two countries were further strengthened by the surge in each country a part of the principalities of the region. Almost all 562 communities scattered political Join India or Pakistan, but Muslim rulers Hyder? B? D and J? N? Gadh and the Hindu ruler of Kashmir? r does not choose to join either country.

Sa August 14, 1947 and 15, the three princely states became technically independent. But when the Muslim ruler of J? n? gadh, with its predominantly Hindu join in Pakistan a month later, India annexed his territory. Sa September 1948 India used force of arms to attach Hyder? B? D (now the state of Andhra Pradesh in central India), which had a majority Hindu population. The Hindu ruler of Kashmir? R, the subject is 85 percent Muslim, decided to join India. Pakistan, however, questioned its right to do so, and war broke out between India and Pakistan. Although the United Nations (UN) subsequently resolved that a plebiscite be held under the auspices the United Nations to determine the future of Kashmir? r, India continues to occupy about 2 / 3 of the state and refused to hold a plebiscite. Pakistan controls the rest of Azad (Free) Kashmir? R, an autonomous region and the Northern Territory, federal administration. This blockade, which still persists, has intensified suspicion and antagonism between the two countries.

C The first government and the Constitution of 1956

The first government of Pakistan was headed by Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan and selected the port of Kar? Chi as its capital. Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan and hailed as the Quaid-i-Azam (Great leader), has become head of state as governor general. The government faces many challenges in creating new economic, legal, and political structures. It tried to fix the bureaucracy and armed forces, resettle the Mohajir (Islamic refugees of India) and found the distribution and balance of power in the central and provincial governments. Undermining these efforts are provincial politicians, who often central challenge government authority, and frequent riots community. Before the government can overcome these difficulties, Jinnah died in September 1948.

Foreign policy, Liaquat established friendly relations with the United States, when he visited President Harry S. Truman in 1950. principles of Pakistan's foreign policy is one of nonalignment, which no formal commitment or the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the two main adversaries in the Cold War. In 1953, however, Pakistan is aligned with the United States and accepted military and economic aid.

Liaquat was assassinated in 1951. Khwaja Nazimuddin, an East Pakistani succeeded Jinnah as governor-general, became prime minister. Ghulam Muhammad became governor general. Nazimuddin attempted to limit the power of the governor general through amendments to the Law on Government of India, 1935, in Pakistan which is operated pending adoption of a constitution. Ghulam Muhammad dismissed Nazimuddin and replaced him with Muhammad Ali Bogra, Pakistan's ambassador to United States, who was subsequently elected president of the Muslim League.

In 1954 provincial elections in East Pakistan, the Muslim League was defeated by integrating United Front supported provincial autonomy. The coalition is dominated by the Awami League. However, Ghulam Muhammad imposed governor rule in the province, preventing the United Front to take power in the provincial legislature. After the constituent assembly tried to curb the power governor general, Ghulam Muhammad declared a state of emergency and dissolved the assembly. A new constituent assembly was indirectly elected in mid-1955 through various provincial legislatures. The Muslim League, but is still the largest party is no longer dominant as more parties, including the United Front coalition, gained representation. Bogra, little support in the new assembly was replaced by Chaudhri Muhammad Ali, a former government official in western Pakistan and members of the Muslim League. Both time, General Iskander Mirza became governor-general.

The new constituent assembly enacted a bill, which came to power in October 1955, the addition four provinces of West Pakistan into a single political and administrative unit known as Unit One. This change is designed to provide parity of western Pakistan's most populous East Pakistan in the national legislature. The conference also produced the first charter Pakistan, which was approved March 2, 1956. It is provided for a unicameral (Single chamber) National Assembly with 300 seats, evenly divided between East and West Pakistan. Also the official Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Agree with the provisions thereof, Mirza changed the title of governor-general of the presidency.

D weak parliamentary democracy

The new lease however, continued political instability, Because no party emerged from a stable in most of the National Assembly. Prime Minister Ali remained in office only until September 1956, when he failed to keep The most of the National Assembly and was succeeded by Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, founder of the Awami League of East Pakistan. He formed a coalition cabinet with the Awami League and the Republican Party of West Wing, a new party formed by dissident members of the Muslim League. However, Mirza Suhrawardy president forced to resign after to know that the prime minister is planning to support Firoz Khan Noon, leader of the Republican Party for president in the first general election in the country scheduled for January 1959. The success of the coalition government, headed by Ismail Ibrahim Chundrigar of the Muslim League, will take only two months before it was replaced by a strong GOP in half a day.

President Mirza, realize that there is no chance of being reelected president and openly dissatisfied with parliamentary democracy, military law declared October 7, 1958. Government rejected the South, dissolved the National Assembly, and canceled scheduled elections. Mirza was supported by General Muhammad Ayub Khan, commander of the army general who was appointed manager of military laws. Twenty days later Ayub forced the chief resign and not really the president himself.

E The Ayub taon

President Ayub ruled Pakistan almost absolute for a little over ten years. Although his regime made some notable success, not eliminate the basic problems of Pakistani society. Ayub bulk method of fund development in East Pakistan more than threefold. This is an obvious effect on the economy provincial, but the difference between the two wings of Pakistan are not eliminated. His regime also initiated land reforms designed to reduce political power of the landed aristocracy. Ayub also promulgated progressive Islamic law, Muslim Family Law Ordinance 1961, imposing restrictions on polygamy and divorce, and reinforcing the inheritance rights of women and minors.

In 1959, shortly after taking office, Ayub ordered the planning and construction A new national capital to replace Kar? chi. The site chosen for the new capital of Punjab province, near the military headquarters of me? Walpindi, who served as temporary capital. Isl? M? B? D officially became the new capital in 1967, although construction continued in the 1970s.

Perhaps the most pervasive of Ayub changes is the introduction of a new political system, known as major democracies in 1959. Created a system of four levels of mostly indirect representation the government, from local to national level, which allows communication between local communities and the highly centralized national government. Each tier was assigned some responsibility local governments in agriculture and community development, such as maintenance of basic schools, roads and bridges. All Tehsil councils (Subdistrict) Zillah (district), and division levels were indirectly elected. The lowest level, village level, consisted of union councils. Members main union council is known as the Democrats are the only members of any level elected directly.

A new constitution promulgated by Ayub in 1962 ended the era of martial law. The new 156-member National Assembly was elected that year by an electoral college of 120,000 Democratic base union council. After the legislative elections, political parties were legalized again. Ayub created the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) as the official government party. The presidential election of January 1965, also determined by electoral college rather than direct vote, resulted in a victory for Ayub, although opposition parties were allowed to join.

Ayub are experts in maintaining cordial relations with the United States, encouraging more economic aid and military aid to Pakistan. This relationship has deteriorated in 1965 when a new war with India over Kashmir broke out? R. The United States then suspended military and economic aid to both countries. The Soviet Union stepped in to mediate the conflict, inviting Ayub and Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri of India to meet in Tashkent (Tashkent). By the terms of the so called Tashkent Agreement of January 1966, The two countries withdrew their forces to pre-war positions and restored diplomatic, economic and trade relations. Exchange program was initiated, and the flow of capital goods in the Philippines has increased substantially.

The Tashkent Agreement and Kashmir? A war, however, generated frustration among the people and resentment against President Ayub. Foreign Affairs Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who opposed Pakistan's capitulation, resigned and founded the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) the fight against Ayub regime. Ayub tried unsuccessfully to make peace, and among the public mounting protests, declared martial law and resigned in March 1969. Instead of moving power to the president of the National Assembly, as the constitution dictated, he gave the commander in chief of the army, General Agha Mohammed Yahya Khan, who was the administrator appointed by the military law. Yahya, became president.

Yahya regime F

In an attempt to make his martial law regime more acceptable, Yahya dismissed almost 300 senior officials and identified 32 families that were said to control almost half of gross national product of Pakistan. To curb their power Yahya issued an ordinance against monopolies and restrictive trade practices in 1970. It also promised the return of constitutional government and announced the country held its first general elections in the basis of universal adult suffrage in the late 1970s.

Yahya out that the representation in the National Assembly is based on population. In July 1970, took the One Unit, thereby restoring the original four provinces of West Pakistan. As a result, East Pakistan emerged as the largest province of the country, while in western Pakistan province of Punjab, the province emerged as dominant. East Pakistan was allocated 162 seats in 300-seat National Assembly, and the province of West Pakistan has allocated a total of 138.

G Civil War

The election campaign intensified divisions between East and West Pakistan. The challenge to Pakistan's unity emerged in East Pakistan when Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ("Mujib"), Awami League leader, insisted on a federation under which East Pakistan was virtually independent. Federal government is expected to address defense and foreign affairs only, though the coins are different, although freely convertible.

Mujib program had great appeal for many East Pakistanis, and call for elections in December 1970 by Yahya, he won by a landslide in eastern Pakistan, capturing 160 seats in the National Assembly. Bhutto by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) emerged as the largest party in West Pakistan, capturing 81 seats (especially in Punjab and Sind). Awami League has provided a completely majority in the National Assembly, a turn of events that is considered unacceptable political interests in West Pakistan because of political climate in the divided country. The Awami League adopted a firm stance, however, negotiations between various parties have been deadlocked.

Suspecting Mujib of secessionist politics, Yahya in March 1971 postponed indefinitely the convening of the National Assembly. Mujib returned to accused Yahya of collusion with Bhutto and established a virtually independent government in East Pakistan. Yahya opened negotiations with Mujib in Dhaka in mid-March, but the effort soon failed. Meanwhile Pakistan's army went into action against Mujib's civilian followers, who demanded that East Pakistan became the independent nation of Bangladesh.

There were many casualties during military operations followed in East Pakistan, as Pakistan's army attacked the poorly armed population. India claimed that nearly 10 million Bengali refugees crossed its borders, and stories atrocities in Pakistan West abounded. The Awami League leaders took refuge sa Calcutta (now Kolkata) and established a government in exile. India finally intervened on December 3, 1971, and the Pakistani army surrendered 13 days later. East Pakistan declared its independence as Bangladesh.

Yahya resigned, and on December 20 Bhutto was sworn in as president and chief martial law administrator truncated Pakistan. Mujib became the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh, in January 1972. When the Bangladesh Community Nations later admitted year, Pakistan withdrew its membership, not to return until 1989. However, the Bhutto government gave diplomatic recognition of Bangladesh in 1974.

Manage of Bhutto H

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan People's Party formed in 1967 and became president the country in 1971. His presidency, followed the secession of Bangladesh and the subsequent war with India, is credited with restoring stability in relation to Pakistan. Bhutto became prime minister in 1973 under a new constitution, but his political fortunes have changed the face of opposition and regional violence in Pakistan. He was overthrown four years later, accused of killing a political opponent, convicted and hanged in 1979.

Under Bhutto's leadership Pakistan began to rearrange its national life. Bhutto nationalized the main industry, insurance companies, domestically-owned banks, schools and at school. He also instituted land reform benefited tenants and middle-class farmers. He removed the armed forces from the decision-making processes, but to appease the generals to distribute about 6 percent of gross national product on defense products. Sa July 1972 Bhutto negotiated the Simla Agreement, which confirmed a control line that separates Kashmir? R and caused the withdrawal of Indian troops from Pakistani territory.

Sa April 1972 Bhutto lifted martial law and the National Assembly was convened, composed of members elected from West Pakistan in 1970. After much political debate, the legislature drafted Constitution's third countries, which was promulgated on August 14th, 1973. This the National Assembly with a bicameral legislature in the Senate a number of Senate and National Assembly a House. Prime Minister designated as the most powerful government officials, but also establish a formal parliamentary system where the executive is responsible in front of Parliament. Bhutto became prime minister, and Fazal Elahi Chaudry replaced him as president.

Despite the discontent, the military grudgingly accepted The supremacy of civilian leadership. Bhutto embarked on ambitious nationalization programs and land reform, which he called "Islamic socialism." Their reforms have had some success but earned him the wrath of the entrepreneurial and capitalist class. In addition, religious leaders considered not Islamic. Can not constructively deal with the opposition, has become a strong hand to the government. In the general election of 1977, nine opposition parties united Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) to run against Bhutto's PPP. Loss in three of four provinces, the PNA alleged that Bhutto was rigged the vote. The PNA boycotted the provincial elections a few days and organized demonstrations throughout the country that lasted for six weeks.

I Zia regime

The PPP and ANP leadership is not to solve not reconciliation, and the chief of Army Staff, General Muhammad Zia ul-Haq, staged a fortune on July 5, 1977, and set another method of military law. Bhutto was tried for the right to murder a political opponent and found guilty, was hanged on April 4th, 1979. The PPP was reorganized under the leadership his daughter, Benazir Bhutto.

Zia formally assumed the presidency in 1978 and embarked on a program of Islamization. By different ordinances from 1978 and 1985, he instituted the Islamization of the legal and economic systems of Pakistan and the social order. In 1979 a federal Sharia (Islamic law) court was established to implement its power of Islam. Other ordinances established interest-free banking and provided maximum penalties for adultery, vandalism, theft and use of alcohol.

On Mar 24 1981, Zia issued a provisional constitutional order that serves as a replacement for the suspended 1973 Constitution. The order established for the formation of Federal Advisory Council (Majlis-e-Shura) to take the place of the National Assembly. In early 1982 Zia elect the 228 members of the new council. This effectively confined to political parties are limited by the prohibition of political activity, to organize resistance to the Zia regime through the electoral process.

Soviet intervention in Afghanistan in December 1979 have increased insecurity in Pakistan and to restore the fortunes of the military regime of General Zia. Afghan refugees began arriving in Pakistan. Then one year, the United States will respond to the crisis. Sa September 1981 Zia accepted a six-year-old economic and military aid package worth U.S. $ 3,200,000,000 States. (The United States approved an aid package worth $ 4.0 billion in second in 1986 but then suspended its payments in 1989 for nuclear weapons programs in Pakistan.) After a referendum in December 1984 that approved the policy of Zia's Islamization and the extension of his presidency until 1990, Zia permitted elections for parliament in February 1985. A civilian cabinet took office in April, and martial law ended in December. Zia was dissatisfied, however, and May 1988 The government is dissolved and new elections ordered. Three months later he was killed in a plane crash probably caused due to sabotage and an interim regime took power until elections are held.

J Change of civilian government

Benazir Bhutto Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan in 1988 became the first woman to be elected prime minister of an Islamic country. The daughter of former Pakistan Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was dismissed two years later on charges that his government is corrupt and inefficient. Although he was reelected in 1993, was dismissed for a second time on similar charges in 1996.

Benazir Bhutto became prime minister after the PPP won the general election in November 1988. He was the first woman to lead a modern Islamic state. The official, Ghulam Ishaq Khan, was appointed president. In August 1990, dispatched Bhutto government, charging misconduct, and declared state of emergency. Bhutto and the PPP lost the election in October after he was arrested for corruption and abuse of power.

The new prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, head of the Islamic Democratic Alliance (coalition of Islamic parties like the Pakistan Muslim League), introduced a program of privatization of the state and encouraging foreign investment. Sharif fulfilling election promises on sharia (Islamic law), the supreme law of Pakistan, the Legislature National Assembly adopted a bill amending the Islamic Law in 1991. Sharif also promised to ease tensions continue with India over Kashmir? R. The charges against Bhutto were resolved, and he returned to lead the resistance. In early 1993 Sharif was appointed the leader of Pakistan Muslim League.

April 1993 Ishaq Sa Khan once again used his presidential power, this time to dismiss Sharif and to dissolve the parliament. However, Sharif appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and Mayo court noted that Khan's actions were unconstitutional, and the court reinstated Sharif as prime minister. Sharif and Khan subsequently became embroiled in a power struggle that paralyzed the Pakistani government. An agreement designed to end the stalemate, Sharif Khan and collective protest in July 1993, and elections are held in October of this year. Bhutto's PPP won a majority of parliamentary elections, and Bhutto became prime minister.

In 1996 the Bhutto government was dismissed by President Farooq Leghari half allegations of corruption. New elections in February 1997 brought Nawaz Sharif back to power with a clear victory for the Pakistan Muslim League. One of Sharif's first actions as prime minister will lead the National Assembly to pass a constitutional amendment stripping the president power to dissolve Parliament. The action triggered a power struggle between Sharif, Leghari, and Supreme Court Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. When the military threw its support Sharif, Leghari resigned and Shah was removed. Sharif nominee, Rafiq Tarar, was elected president.

Pakistan is beset by internal conflict since the mid 1990s. Violence between rival political groups, religious and ethnic groups erupted frequently in the province of Sindh, especially in Kar? chi. Federal rules are imposed on the province in late 1998 for to the increasing violence.

K relations with India

Relations between India and Pakistan became more tense beginning in early 1990. Diplomatic talks between the two countries broke down in January 1994 with the disputed Kashmir? r region. Bhutto in February across the country organized a strike to show their support for militant Muslim rebels in Indian Kashmir? r involved in sporadic fighting against Indian troops. He also announced that his country will continue its nuclear weapons program development, expansion concerns that a nuclear arms race could start between Pakistan and India, which had nuclear weapons since the 1970s. In January 1996, despite some controversy, the U.S. lifted some economic sanctions and military sanctions imposed against Pakistan since 1990. The sanctions, imposed to protest nuclear weapons program in Pakistan, was lifted to allow U.S. businesses contract with Pakistan and help promote Diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In early 1997 Sharif resumed talks with India to Kashmir? R region, however, negotiations quickly broke down when armed hostilities erupted again. Tensions rose further in 1998, when India na conducted several nuclear tests. Pakistan responded with its own tests, detonating nuclear weapons for the first time in its history. The Pakistani government then has declared a state of emergency, invoking constitutional provisions to operate in Pakistan's security was under "threat of external aggression." Many countries, including the United States imposed economic sanctions against India and Pakistan for nuclear explosive devices. In the months following the explosions, the leader Pakistan and India on a moratorium on nuclear testing, and the U.S. launched negotiations between the two countries to reduce tensions and prevent an arms race in the region.

In early 1999 Sharif and Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee signed the Manila Declaration, which articulated a commitment to work on improving relations. However, April fear of a nuclear arms race revived when both countries tested medium-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. Furthermore, in May 1999 Kashmir? Ri separatist, is believed to be backed by Pakistan, seized Indian-controlled territory near the disputed Kashmir Kargil? R region. Clashes between Indian forces and separatists continue until July, when Sharif agreed to secure the withdrawal of the separatists and India suspended its military campaign.

The Pakistani military accused Sharif of giving in too easily to pressure from India and pinning the blame for the Kargil attack on army chief Pervez Musharraf. Sa October 1999 Sharif tried to fire Musharraf of his position. He tried to avoid Musharraf was returning to the Philippines from abroad for refusing to leave their land planes. airliner was forced to return to Kar? Chi airport until army forces loyal sa Musharraf took over the airport. Army forces also took control of government in a bloodless victory will take less than three hours.

What is the point of paying taxes Financing of Prince Harry in Sandhurst education?

If a senior officer may decide that the "Theatre conflict "is too high risk for this server? Other members of the Royal Family has served in theater during the conflict. Do not expect your career option to show the higher risk?

It is a mockery of the entire war, a person "privileged" and accelerated treatment got a line or two should now be going nowhere. If he is too white for combat, should be released from the army? This honor was given (something that Another is to win) in command of the army, now is not going anywhere in it. I bet her tail in her hand, which is 6 months on the island of white square bashing. I think his place at Sandhurst should be given to a person more likely to respect the position, and earn its reputation and not have a nurse, because it is a big house. On a different note, I think all officers should start with the basic level and to act on its way up. Why Soldiers know what hard work is governed by a man purportedly from a higher class, not the range. Mick

No denying it now, the phones are everywhere. It is almost unthinkable as old as it is. The first car phone, a Motorola, showed in 1940 but both the battery power that does not work until the 1980s. Since then, the cellphone is everywhere. It is now believed that the world has 50% cell phone. Finland is the country with most cell phones per capita. It is no coincidence that one of the largest manufacturers of mobile Nokia phones are based there

The cell phones have come a long way. Are not just phones. Perhaps the biggest change came in 1997. Year Philippe Kahn is a young entrepreneur with a small company called Star of the sea. Will only come from a company he helped found the Borland software. And is finding new directions, he also something else. A pregnant wife Sonia Lopez, Labor is not easy for 18hrs plus. Halfway through he decided he was tired of her Lamaze techniques husband is trying to get used. He told his wife to shut up and leave her alone. And that is what made Philip. She sat down, but you need something to do. I was too excited. Like any prospect father is her cell phone and camera with him and thought of how to combine the two. He had time for some travel to Radio Shack and some fiddling and soon the cell phone camera was born. And the daughter of Philip was the first person with a profile of the phone Camera! He then went to Motorola with a new idea, but unfortunately they passed on what was to become one of the biggest regrets of the history of the company. It is interesting noted, however, that Motorola bought its starfish Company. So he took his product to Japan and a whole industry was born.

And what is an industry. Think about how many big events in the world are captured on mobile phone cameras. This summer in Burma since the government silences critics promote democracy by reducing the Internet, TV and radio the world has a firsthand view of the brave monks walking the streets of Burma, by a cell phone camera.

Where the career of Michael Richards, Seinfeld now is if a cell phone camera has not got his racist comments and put them in YouTube? Prince Harry has always been haunted by images of the cell phone with him in a Nazi costume one Halloween. Although Saddam Hussein's disappearance finally acquired by cell phone camera for the world to see. There is a case in New York, where someone in the subway traveling companions decided to flash. Imagine his horror when the next day comes through in all its glory on the front page of The New York Post on a cell phone camera. None In fact, the mother is pleased.

Think about the past and the days of John F. Kennedy, how his presidency will be different if he was captured by the camera cell phone goes to the hotel room of Marilyn Monroe? We will see it differently now?

George Orwell's 1984 book scared us all thinking of Big Brother government watching our every move. Nobody thought it would be the person next to you with camera cell phones will be the biggest risk. I miss the days when the most advanced phone is Maxwell Smart's shoe phone at least you know then what I had. As Maxwell Smart has his own saying "do you think?"

Prince Harry is racist?

Prince Harry has apologized for their racist remarks that he made. I can not blame him, however. I have many racist thoughts, and I think a great deal of people. When it comes to end racism and all you hear at night are black people talking and shouting out loud really, why what's wrong still racist? All these stereotypes are materialized. There are many black and fairly smart people, but let's be honest, most Black people in America is strong and tough. There is nothing that completely answers my question. Y "2myself" maybe you should stop spreading the ignorance of grammar incorrectly. "His" and "you" are two different words! Hey first guy, I'm from Madison, Wisconsin. I get to University of Wisconsin-Madison live on campus. Jin and go see Chicken Shack website to see pictures of all the people I'm talking very black.

Entertaining:) lols

Prom Night could be one of the most unforgettable moments of your life. This is one evening that you will remember for the rest of your life. However, Prom Night is not only about dressing the best, but it is also about driving safely. You do not want to ruin your plans just because something happens to your vehicle, right?

You may plan everything for weeks just to perform the best on Prom Night. You search for a partner, the best outfit, the best hairdo, the nicest shoes, or just anything to make you fabulous. Your vehicle could be the last to prepare, but do you realize that it is the most important thing you need to succeed your night? Read these following tips to catch the idea.

Renting a limo will be good, as this is a dream car for some people. Coming to a party with a limo will be so fabulous. You can talk to your parents to get a limo just for one night. Your parents will have a peaceful mind as a professional limo driver will keep things controlled.

If your parents do not allow you to rent a limo, you can use your family car and ask a family friend to drive. You do not want your father drive it for you, right? A prom night and a father is a big no! By taking a driver, you will have much time to prepare yourself while you are on the road, such as taking photos or applying lipstick.

Being with friends is nice, but it does not mean that you can take too many passengers in your vehicle. Just limit them to five for your five-seat car, or do not let a few extras sneak on if you ride a limo. Remember that a vehicle has limited seatbelts that cannot protect all your friends! The crowd made by too many people in the car can also make the driver less concentrate.

Be sure to hear the “click” from your seatbelt! You may say that wearing seatbelt will ruin your dress or tuxedo, but this reason does not make sense. Hey, those celebrities wear their Prada, and they wear seatbelt as well!

To prevent speeding, just prepare yourself earlier. Leaving home 15 or 20 minutes earlier is not a sin, especially if you have to pick up your friends. It will give you extra time to do anything well, without speeding. Remember that this is your big day, so coming on time safely is a priority.

Although Prom Night is your big day, it does not mean that you can let your friends bring cocktails before you all arrive at the party spot. Getting drunk when arriving at a party will make a history, a bad history. You will look messy, and the alcohol in your breath can ruin your night. You do not want to be remembered that way, right?

If you come to the party by riding a motorcycle and are “stubborn” enough to speed up, you may need a Escort 8500 x50 radar detector. To get any information about this, visit http://motorcycleradardetector.org/.
